Why Jamaica?

Spiritual darkness prevails over the country of Jamaica. Over 80% of the people who reside in Jamaica do not enjoy a relationship with Jesus Christ. Simeon Baptist exists to love God, love his word and see lives transformed to the glory of God. This mission trip will provide an opportunity for participants to be introduced to a new culture and share the love of Jesus Christ.

What is the cost of the trip?

The estimated all-inclusive cost for the trip is $1900. This cost includes airfare, room and board, meals while in Jamaica, ground transportation. Cost DOES NOT include passport, passport photos, meals to and from Jamaica, some meals in Jamaica, snacks, baggage fees, souvenirs.

Your final payment is due by May 1, 2025, to Simeon Baptist Church (Jamaica Mission Trip).


Proposed Fundraising Strategy

Here is a simple proven strategy that has helped other groups. Ask all contributors to make checks out to Simeon Baptist Church, and print the individual name on the memo line. If giving electronically through Online Giving, select Jamaica Mission and list the individual’s name.

  • Each participant enlists six individuals to give $25.00 per month for seven months (Sept-Mar)
    25.00 x 7 months=$175 x 6 contributors=$1050

  • Personal contribution from individual participating $850

  • Estimated total all-inclusive cost for trip. $1900.00
    (includes: airfare, insurance, shirt, lodging, meals, tourism)

  • Cost does not include passport, passport photos, snacks, and souvenirs.


Frequently Asked Questions

  • The trip is limited to a total of fifty participants. Priority will be given to Simeon Baptist Church members. The trip will also be open to churches that share our great commission focus.

  • The team will be working with the Bethel Baptist Circuit of churches and Pastor Denzil Jack. We will also be working with Linstead Ministers Fraternal and leadership from the Jamaica Baptist Union

  • Mission Team will travel round trip from Nashville, TN to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

  • In order to go to Jamaica, you need to be 15 years of age or have completed the 9 th grade by May 2025. Anyone under the age of 15 years is welcome to participate in the trip if they are accompanied by their parent or guardian.

    • Lead devotion in Jamaica primary and high schools

    • Servant evangelism projects

    • Assist in leading backyard bible clubs.

    • Provide leadership in worship through areas of giftedness.

    • Preach, teach and sing in worship services.

    • Prayer Walking

  • Participants will be lodging at the Island Dream Hotel, Bogwalk, Jamaica. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, showers, toilets, sinks and other amenities. The hotel has an onsite restaurant, meeting room, Jamaica Skating rink and has a full-time security team on site.

  • Meals will be provided in variety of venues. The hotel restaurant will provide breakfast and lunch. There will be occasions where the team will be on the mission field during lunch time, and accommodation for lunch will be coordinated. Participants will need to have money to purchase meals while at the airport and any meal that they consume while traveling from Montego Bay to Bogwalk which is a three-hour drive.

  • Yes, Prior to the trip a Virtual and in-person Orientation will be hosted.
